Coating Holiday

A gap, pinhole or void in a protective coating that leaves bare metal exposed. Coatings carry most of the corrosion-protection load and CP protects the metal at the holidays, which is why the two are designed together. Holiday testing finds defects before a structure is buried or submerged.
