High Silicon Cast Iron (HSCI)

An iron alloy with roughly 14.5% silicon that forms a protective silicon-oxide film as it discharges current, giving long life in ICCP service. Chromium-bearing grades are used where chlorides are present, such as seawater and brackish soil.
